    FAQ

When is the bike park open?

The Saddleback Bike Park is now open for pedal-power access. Lift access on the South Branch Quad Friday-Sunday. Once the lift starts spinning, hours will be Friday-Sunday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. We will be open on select Thursdays and Mondays throughout the summer and fall.

Pedal power is available 7 days a week. Purchase a pedal power ticket and complete the waiver online. Please note, that no on-mountain rescue services are available until we begin running the lift.

Be there or be square – the last chair loads at 3:47 p.m.

How many trails do you have? What’s the easiest way down?

The Saddleback Bike Park has seven downhill trails. Don’s Delight is a two-way traffic trail, allowing uphill pedal power access as well. Bar Hopper is a green and the easiest downhill trail. View the trail map and MTB report page.

Who yields on the two-way traffic trail, Don’s Delight?

The rider headed uphill gives the right-of-way to the rider going downhill. All downhill riders please reduce speed when passing.

    I don’t own a bike. Can I rent?

No bike? No problem! The Saddleback Bike Shop offers high-quality, full-suspension bike rentals for adults and children. Rental reservations are available online. Book online to ensure availability. Our rental bikes are not for use off the mountain. Rentals are to be returned by 4 p.m.

Can I ride a rental from Saddleback’s Bike Park to the Rangeley Lakes Trails Center?

Yes, rental bikes can go down to the Rangeley Lakes Trail Center. You will have 3 options to get there:

    1. Ride down and pedal back up.

    2. With a lift-serviced MTB ticket, you can ride down and pedal back to the lift to catch the last chair by 3:47 p.m. Fri-Sun.

    3. Transport the bikes yourself. (You must have a tray-style bike rack or truck with a tailgate pad. Someone in the bike shop will inspect your vehicle to make sure there is appropriate transportation.)

How do I access the RLTC trail network from the Saddleback Bike Park?

View the RLTC TRAIL MAP AND CONNECTOR TRAILS. Use the Long Hill connector to access the RLTC trail system directly from the bike park. The use of this network is donation-based. You can find donation boxes located at information kiosks throughout the network.

Can I ride my bike up the mountain?

Uphill or pedal-power access is permitted only on Don’s Delight and Lower Green Weaver with a valid pedal-power ticket.  Riding above the lodge is only allowed along Lower Green Weaver in order to access Bronco.

Can I ride my bike to brunch at The Nest?

No, there is no bike access above Lower Green Weaver.

Can I ride my bike down Royal Tiger?

No, in the summer this is a work road. We ask that you keep this area clear for your safety.

    Are e-bikes allowed?

Class 1 E-bikes are permitted on the trails.

Can I take a scenic ride?

The South Branch Chair is for MTB lift service only.  We are offering scenic lift rides on the Rangeley Quad on select Sundays in July & August! Learn more.

Can my child ride on back?

No. We do not allow child carriers of any kind on bikes. One person per bike.

    Is there camping?

You may sleep in your vehicle in one of our upper parking lots. Respect the space by packing out what you pack in and being quiet after 9 p.m. No restrooms, trash, or electricity hook ups available. No fires permitted.

I’m hungry. Where can I grab food and drinks?

The Pub at Saddleback is a full-service restaurant and bar open weekly, Thursday-Saturday from 12-9 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m.- 5 p.m.  Come kick back with us at the Pub and enjoy the views after a day on the mountain.

Brunch is available at The Nest on select Sundays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.  This is accessible via hiking up Grey Ghost or Purchasing a scenic lift ticket to ride the Rangeley Quad.
